New hairdo!?

So I was totally pleased with the outcome of my new hairdo and everyone else loved it too! After sticking with the same style for something like 5 years, I decided in 1 day to get something new. Never had bangs before and they're still causing some headaches, but i'll get used to it :-)

We recently added a fourth dog to our family. His name is now "seuntjie" and also "Max" and he is adorable and also very energetic! His fav play place is in Chenae's bucket of plastic balls!
I also made pudding twice in one week! First we made this yummy lemon meringue, was sooo nice.
And for the public holiday I made some "souskluitjies" or sauce dumplings. Made with a flour,egg,milk dough and baked in a cinnamon and sugar sauce in the oven. Absolutely divine.

Then hubby also applied the wallart to the dining room walls! I love the outcome. Thanks to whatisblik.com and Noesie for the courier of the product!

All in all a very productive week last week.

Exactly 1 month + Digi invites

I have been completely negligent with this blog for no real reason other than laziness I guess.
P365 has not been so successful either :-)

It's been a full month without posting anything, but thought these new digi invites I created were worth mentioning.

The first was the invite for Chenae's 3rd birthday gathering at the JHB Zoo. I liked the funky images and thought it was very cute.I also made 4x6in cards for the party packs at her creche for all the friends.

Then I also did an invite for my sister's bday luncheon this coming saturday at a bistro for her friends.
Using ready-made elements and putting them all together is a fun and easy way to make a very new and different type of invite.

I need to get all the photos I have taken for p365 together and upload them sometime. Until then, tara.

Splash of Color

I decided that the dry wall leading to our lounge needs some serious color, so we quickly bought a litre of paint mixed in a turquoise color and last night while Chenae was sleeping, hubby and I painted the wall! I love the bright contrasting wall with the sandy color of the other walls. I then grabbed a foam stamp which came with a crafting magazine and started stamping the top border on the 3 other walls. I think this tied everything in better, but it still needs something more.............

This morning Chenae noticed the butterflies and was very pleased with my creation :-)

Bike ride to Sun City

Wow, I havn't posted in a while. Sorry Jackie, I know you're probably the only one who reads this :-)
I forgot to tell you about the motorbike trip to Sun City. It happened on the 19th of April. The meeting point was atr the Sasol fuel station where Hendrik POtgieter and the Krugersdorp highway cross. We had to be there at 7am, but as usual, we overslept and only woke up at 6:40!
Nevertheless - we stopped there at 7:15am. I've never been so quick in my LIFE!

After a quick grouping to discuss the rules and route, we were on our way.

We stopped for all the smokers and slow ones quite a few times along the way, we must have travelled at a top speed of 80km/h. There were so many "Think Bike" official marshals among us, that it looked like a spietkop conference!

We arrived in a mass of motorbikes at sun city and enjoyed free entrance. Apparently the initiative was so successful that Sun city invited us for another big arrival in June with prizes to give away etc.We had breakfast beside the pool at the Cabanas hotel and only 1 drink - it's too expensive...
We spent the rest of the day at the Valley of the waves riding the supertubes and the waves - woohoo! This is the balcony of the inside casino area.
We left there at about 4:30pm and arrived back home in the dark. A very enjoyable trip and my behind wasn't even sore!

Ek het 'n hele klompie CUTE fotos geneem laas week vir paastyd. Hierdie eerste klompie was laas week donderdag geneem toe Chenae 'n easter dag by die creche gehad het. Het ore gekry by Showbiz in Cresta and toe 'n mandjie versier met strikkies en gekleurde wasgoed pennetjies met easter eggs vir die grown-ups by die "skool"

Die sondag moes ons by die skoon familie gaan eet en het toe dieselfde gedoen.

Haar nefie het die ekstra paar ore geleen....

Ek het johan gevra om fotos te neem want ek het nie veel van ons 3tjies saam nie

Maar madam het ander idees gehad!

Yipee - ek het dit reggekry om my post te doen hierdie Dinsdag!
Ek het amper nie lus gevoel daarvoor nie, maar toe dag ek, wel, ek het die fotos geneem so ek "might as well" dit publish.

Sat 28 Mar: Ek het 'n pakkie saamgestel vir Kirsten in Engeland en sienende dat sy dalk hierdie sal lees..... ek ek 'n kaleidoskoop van die foto gemaak sodat sy nie sal sien wat sy kry totdat die pakkie daar aangekom het nie :-) haha

Son 29 Mar: Dit was my bediende Mary-Jane se verjaardag gewees en toe dag ek ek sal vir haar 'n hangertjie maak omdat sy altyd die goedjies "admire" wat ek maak. Haar blydskap was groot toe sy dit die maandag oopmaak :-)
Dins 31 Mar: Badtyd het beteken dat in plaas van uittrek, trek sy pappa se skoene aan en probeer met hulle loop! Baie snaaks.

Woe 1 Apr: Het ge-channel-hop en op 'n uur program op MZTV Base afgekom wat Chris Cornell van Soundgarden/Audioslave aangebied het van sy gunsteling songs/videos. Toe neem ek fotos daarvan! haha.

3 Apr: Ai as sy eers aan die gang is kan niks haar keer nie, toe ons in die kamer instap was omtrent AL haar boekies in rye gepak - baie in haar noppies!

Net 'n bietjie later daardie aand het sy in ons kamer gespeel in my grimering laai en die vlg oomblik stamp sy haar oog kapoet! Ek wou sommer hospitaal toe jaag, maar darem het die bloeding opgehou en die snytjie was nie TE erg nie.....
Sat 4 Apr: Dawie het gaan brood en eiers koop vir scones en oppad huis toe het hy gesien dat iets brand. Toe ons in ons erf staan kon ons duidelik sien dit 'n huis se dak wat aan die brand is ! Ai shame.....

Dawie se ma het vrydag al geoffer om chenae op te pas vir 'n rukkie (sy voel skuldig oor al die babysitting wat sy vir die ander seun doen) en toe het ek en dawie besluit ons sal 'n draai gaan ry met die motorfiets. My helmet was vrydag by die winkel en dawie het dit gaan haal - aitsa dis mooi. Sal sommer foto van die net af ook hier insit. Dit het feetjies en unicorns ens op (I'm so predictable)......
So toe neem Anton die tuinier sommer gou hierdie foto in die straat buite :-) Ons het 'n hele entjie gery en dit was vir my baie makliker as wat ek gedink het dit sal wees. Skouers het seer begin raak omdat die wind mens druk en ek probeer stil bly sit. Darem het dawie mooi stadig weggetrek dat ek nie my balans verloor nie en ons het net so 130 km/h gedoen - haha. Gou 'n drankie by "Home of the chicken pie" naby harties gedrink en weer terug huis toe. Ek dink ek is reg vir die trippie Sun City toe op die 19de.

Fluit fluit my storie is vir nou eers uit.
O ja - Jackie, dis jou verjaardag vlg week......ek het nie vergeet nie.

So ek is mal om te speel met al hierdie digital graphics en mooi goed. So hier is 'n nuwe een wat ek gedownload het en ge-modify het.
Chat met Noesie op gchat met 'n glasie Amarula terwyl Chenae en Dawie roomys en chocolate sous eet njam.

Ek was BAIE sleg - het nie 'n enkele foto geneem van maandag tot saterdag laas week nie. Sies.
Oh well......

Nou het ek besluit ek gaan maar eerder in afrikaans skryf, hoekom nou sukkel, dit klink so onpersoonlik in engels ne? ....
Ek het nie gereeld fotos geneem laas week nie, net nie lus gehad om te soek vir iets om af te neem nie, maar ek het wel die naweek opgemaak daarvoor :-)

Woe 18 Mar: Dit het nogal baie gereen die laaste paar dae en die oggend was weer sopnat buite - ongelukkig het die foto nou nie juis dit gewys nie hahaha

Vry 20 Mar: Weereens langs die pad afgetrek om die mooi sunset af te neem :) my hazard werk nou overtime!

Sat 21 Mar: Ek het besluit dat ons na die Rhino & Lion park gaan en was toe net betyds vir die "feeding" van die 6 WIT leeus wat daar gebore is met die breeding facility wat hulle mee werk. Dit was nogal vreemd om te sien hoe wit hulle is teenoor gewone leeus.

Die "cheetah enclosure" was nice want reg langs die pad het hierdie twee mekaar 'n paar keer amper bygedam. Amazing diere.

Die renoster en haar kleintjie was so bruin van die modder besmeer :-)
Ons het broodjies saam gevat en by die piekniek kamp gou geeet en toe na die slange en apies gaan kyk ook. Sy het dit baie geniet en dit was lekker om bietjie uit te kom.

Son 22 Mar: Sondag was ek meestal online want ek doen standby van die huis terwyl meeste van die werksmense elke naweek werk om die werk klaar te kry. Dawie het ook toe sommer die bikes en karre gewas terwyl Chenae haar kreatiewe talent uitgebrei het :)

Hi,

Writing this from my lounge chair as I am at home today nursing Chenae who has a terrible cough. Took her to the dr yesterday and he said it's nothing more than swollen tonsils.
Photos taken over the last week....
8 Mar: I enjoy the editor's letter and the fact that it's produced in Mosselbaai makes it even more worth subscribing to.
9 Mar: I finally finished that necklace and wanted to show the final product. You can order one in any colour from me if you wish....

10 Mar: Dawie actually took this one of me in bed with Choccie.
11 Mar: One of those "pull-over quickly during peak traffic" moments.
11 Mar: Later that night I made another necklace with the Swarovski pendant that I bought at the Hobby-X. Click for larger image.

13 Mar: So i skipped the thursday night, can't remember why..... On Friday we received genuine belgian truffles at work from a french colleague who just came back from his home visit. Yummmm.14 Mar: I can't resist a fairy design from my favourite cross stitch designer Joan Elliot. Paid R100 for this maagazine and will be stitching this beauty for the next few months.....
15 Mar: It was my darling mother's 4 year rememberance on the sunday and Dawie's parents came to visit after returning from their 2 week holiday. Chenae made sure to make ouma read lots of books to her in her bed.

Project 365: 1 - 7 Mar 2009

1 Mar: I decided on the Sunday that we had to get out the house - so we went for brekkie at the Seemans on Hendrik Potgieter. Had to ask the waitress to take the pics, she did a good job!

2 Mar: About 30 minutes after getting home and just in time for dinner - we had a power outage! So out came the candles and Chenae thought it's birthday time!

3 Mar: This huge cricket was in one of the ponytails right next to the front door and boy I made sure to take that picture quickly in case it felt like jumping.

That evening just before the sun went down I noticed the 2 same loeries just outside our bedroom window. They're always around.

4 Mar: We bought the new booster seat and boy it's pretty! Black and hot pink, she loves it!

5 Mar: Beautiful strelitzia in our front garden, the only one blooming at the moment.
6 Mar: After working half day I attended the HOBBY_X at the Northgate Dome. I usually take the Friday off to avoid the weekend rush, however this year was rather quiet and uneventful. I got to take my pic with Owen - the editor of the Craftwise magazine. He is such a laugh! An dthe lovely Guide Dogs caught my attention.
7 Mar: Working from home etc and later the afternoon, Dawie's brother asked if we would babysit their little one for a few hours. Naturally we said yes and Chenae had fun playing with her little 7 month old nephew.

23 Feb - The monday ended with Dawie phoning me while I was still in a meeting at 4:30pm telling me his bike didn't want to start at the filling station. Eventually Wiekus brought hie trusty loading bakkie and they managed to load it on the back with the custom ramp they built. At home, Anton had to help them get it off again. The bike seemed to have a problem with the battery and this resulted in the engine computer switching off functionality to protect itself.....!
24 Feb - On the way home, Chenae and I spotted a rainbow in the sky, so I quickly pulled over and took this photo!

25 Feb - My friend Jeff phoned to ask if we felt like having dinner with him, so we met him at the Clearwater mall after work. We laughed so much, because the flash of the camera made us close our eyes on ALL the photos except this one....

27 Feb - It was slightly cold and overcast and chenae got to wear a new yellow long sleeved shirt. She looks so cute in yellow. Took this snap before leaving home.
28 Feb - So instead of just "washing" hands after a messy paint session - she decided she wanted to take a shower! Such fun to be had!

18 Feb - Storybook time, found this book with all sorts of weird and whacky stories and rhymes to make you laugh.
20 Feb - this darn necklace is taking me 2 weeks to finish, just because i'm lazy....

21 Feb - We took Chenae to a play park nearby and as you can see she enjoyed it thoroughly!

16 Feb - she just loves having her photo taken as long as I show her the outcome after every shot!
16 Feb - realised late that night that I forgot to take some photos and Dawie and I went outside to the backyard to find some pic ops. The swimming pool light illuminated the water.....
The gecko living in our sleeping room gate came out to play.......
The cockroach crawling up the cable also got his chance.......
This is the view from the backgarden looking over our flat roof house. I liked the way this worked out. Slow shutter speed and stable support.....

15 Feb - sweet sleeping beauty
14 Feb - my last minute idea was to buy packs of sweet on friday afternoon and then i printed out some bag toppers and stapled them on. I'm sure Chenae thought they were ALL just for HER!

13 Feb - when we arrived this morning, we were just in time for ice cream - a special treat for casual friday and valentines day - I even received a handmade card made during the week :-) sweet
12 Feb - I thought this was super cute - a family tree which Chenae had made at the creche :-)

11 Feb - needed a few beading products to try my hand at a new design :-)
10 Feb - We had lots of rain these past few days and I took this photo from the office balcony.

2 Feb: I need to make an effort now to find more photography opportunities. Had to include our first 3 babies - Choccie, Lex & Jessie. They're 6 years old.

5 Feb: One of my fav dessets: vanilla ice-cream and crushed malted puffs from woolies. Yummy.
6 Feb: (almost) Nothing beats a nice cuppa tea at night in bed watching telly!

7 Feb: I always take too many pics on saturdays to make up for the lack of enthusiasm in the week. We planted some colourful petunias and ponytails in the front garden and by the front door entrance. We played ball in our pyjamas and got dressed up for the garden center trip :-)
8 feb: Both sisters came for a visit and chenae sure had fun playin with her newphews :-)
Was a nice day.

To be filed in wach child's folder and can be used to track routine and health.
Facilitator Cindy traced Chenae's feet. They'll be making shoes with them....cute

I have been really lazy with taking a photo daily for the past week. No real reason, just lack of energy and motivation I guess.

28 Jan: Made another necklace with swarovski crystals and wore it the next day to work. Realised my crimps were'nt good quality when it snapped on the one end halfway through the day, luckily nothing fell on the floor and is still intact. Haven't fixed it yet though.....

30 Jan: Got home after work and Chenae wanted to play with finger paint which she discovered in the lounge. She had lots of fun and it kept her busy for at least an hour. want to put up the "works of art" in her room and hand out the others to family :-)

31 Jan: One of the cycads which we took from my mom's garden. They are all doing really well.

1 Feb: Went to the MPH09 show a the dome and had to pose infront of an Aston Martin quickly. Took the barrier cable down and hunched while dawie quickly took a shot. Enjoyed the day.

I'm slow this week with doing the photos. I took this on monday by our swimming pool when Dawie was cooling off. The only day this week when it was not raining.

I decided to do some beading for a change so I used the sunstone and swarovski crystals ordered from the US last year. Not sure if I quite like it enough to not undo it.

I completely forgot to take a photo on friday, whoops.

Saturday I spent time "watching" dawie wash my car and leather treat the seats and keeping chenae busy. I finished a swarovski and czech crystal necklace and took a phot of it for the beadfairy website.

Sunday was cloudy and when dawie left at 4am to marshal a cycling race i thought he will be soaking wet when he returns. Chenae and I set off to Pta at 10am to visit Marj and the kids for the day. They had lots of fun jumping on the trampoline and playing with all the boys' toys.
Only got home just before 8pm.
